Yes, we can ship to California and Iowa! (see note at bottom of page)
AquaCera water filters combine Doulton / British Berkefeld Super Sterasyl elements with a high-quality, inexpensive US-made housing for good filtration performance and the best possible value.
A gravity filter enables you to have clean filtered drinking water on tap. Water is poured manually into the upper chamber. It passes through the filter elements under pressure of gravity into the lower chamber where the filtered water can be accessed via a tap on the front of the filter.
The CeraGrav LP5 can accommodate up to 5 filter elements depending on the flow rate needed. Made of FDA-approved HDPE, which is translucent so you can see the water level, unlike stainless steel units. The CeraGrav unit comes with a base to raise the lower chamber for easy access to the tap, unlike most other gravity filters, which need to be placed at the edge of a counter or on top of something else. Water storage capacity is 3.5 gallons. Housing is made in USA; Super Sterasyl elements are made in England. Height 28.6", diameter 11.25".
At the heart of the CeraGrav is the Doulton/Berkefeld Super Sterasyl ceramic & activated carbon element. The ceramic is impregnated with silver, which inhibits the growth of bacteria, to make it self-sterilizing. Super Sterasyl ceramics have a tightly controlled complex pore structure, which has unparalleled filtration properties. With its absolute filtration rating of 0.9 microns, Super Sterasyl is highly effective against particulate contamination, pathogenic bacteria, cysts etc. The activated carbon core is very effective at removing chlorine and organics (pesticides, organic chemicals, tastes & odors, etc.) from water.
Super Sterasyl elements have an absolute pore size of 0.9 micron. Independent testing confirms they remove >99.99% of e.coli, cholera, shigella, typhoid, klebsiella terrigena, cryptosporidium, giardia, and other pathogens. (If you live in California or Iowa, see note at bottom of page.)
Flow rate: approx. one quart per hour, per element, as long as the water level is kept above the top of the elements.

If you live in California or Iowa, then Super Sterasyl elements don't remove anything, because your state government chooses not to accept data that work just fine everywhere else on the planet. But that's OK because, presumably, they've made laws that protect you from all the nasty stuff that might otherwise be in whatever water you might have to drink in an emergency. But I digress... So, yes, we can ship to you, but we make NO CLAIMS WHATSOEVER about what it will or won't remove from water after it crosses your state line.
